Discovering Lisbon in 4 hours!
Private guided tour to the Historical Center. You cross the Avenida da Liberdade and climb up the hill to the Castle of Sao Jorge. You go to St. Anthony's Church, built at the birthplace of the most famous of all Portuguese saints known as St. Anthony of Padua. Continuing up, you go to the Cathedral Centennial. At the top you find the stunning scenery of the Tagus estuary, wide, called the Sea of Straw Alfacinha (inhabitants of Lisbon). Then you will see a tile panel that will show you before the devastating Lisbon earthquake of 1755. Largo das Portas do Sol where the statue of the city's patron, St. Vincent, seeing in the distance the imposing monastery where his remains were deposited. It came down to Pombaline through the labyrinthine streets of Alfama, but one of the candlesticks and characteristic districts of the popular old Lisbon. Commerce Square, with its huge and magnificent triumphal arch, commemorating the Pombaline which was rebuilt in classical style after the 1755 earthquake. Rua Augusta, Rossio and already in Restauradores Square Garden will go up to San Pedro de Alcantara - for a breathtaking view of the Castle - using the traditional elevator of Glory, as they do every day thousands of Lisbon. In the middle of Bairro Alto down, let's see the inside of one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Portugal, the Church of Sao Roque with particular reference to the Chapel of St. Baptist, crowning glory of Italian art in Portugal. Continuation and stop for coffee (not included) in the famous Brasileira do Chiado, where poets and writers who led one of the most original movements were of Portuguese culture. You will pass the ruins of Carmo Church and will not end without first seeing closely the Santa Justa Elevator. End the tour at Rossio.
